Everything the team knows about an animal, in one place

01

A reliable identity

Species, breed, sex, size, identification, origin. You enter an exact or approximate date of birth: the age shown (“3 years”, “approx. 8 months”) is recalculated automatically.

02

Daily life noted as it happens

Dated and signed journal notes, weigh-ins with their curve, temperament, compatibility, diet, routine and instructions. Volunteers add photos and observations without touching the rest of the record.

03

A clear history

Arrival, successive foster homes, adoption, possible return: the “Shelter journey” card retraces the animal’s story, with dates and durations.

In detail

Five statuses
Quarantine, In care, Adoptable, Reserved, Released: the status drives the lists, the public adoption page and the register.
Advanced search
Sex, size, compatibility, neutering, vaccination, age, weight, adoption fee, urgency, housing, temperament.
Record to complete
A “To complete” list reminds you what is missing: identification, diet, kennel, weight, photo.
Photos
Several photos per upload, choice of main photo, full-screen viewer.
Documents
PDFs, images or documents up to 12 MB, with their label, their date and the person who added them.
Urgent cases
Life-threatening emergency, long stay in kennel, senior, disability: markers that make the animals to rehome first stand out.

Frequently asked questions

What if you don’t know an animal’s exact age?

Enter an approximate date of birth. Calidis then shows an age preceded by “approx.”, which changes over time.

Can volunteers edit records?

You decide. By default, a volunteer views records and adds journal notes, photos and weigh-ins; creating and editing are for managers.

Can you track species other than dogs and cats?

Not for the moment: records are for dogs and cats.

Try Calidis with your own shelter.
