The shelter’s conversations, close to the records
Talk about an animal without ambiguity
Type # and the animal’s name: the message tags it and links to its record. @ flags the message to the person concerned. A photo can be attached to the message.
Everyone in charge of their own messages
Everyone edits and deletes their own messages; removing someone else’s requires a moderation permission, and the action is recorded in the activity log.

- General channel
- Created automatically, open to the whole team, cannot be deleted.
- Restricted channels
- Readable by certain roles or certain people only, marked with a padlock.
- A message
- Text, a photo, mentions and tagged animals; web addresses become clickable.
- Unread
- Badge in the menu and on each channel, a “New messages” marker, a separate signal when you are mentioned.
- Updates by itself
- The page refreshes every few seconds, without reloading anything.
- Full thread
- The last fifty messages are shown first; earlier ones load on demand.
Frequently asked questions
Do you need to install an app?
No. Team chat opens in the browser, on a phone or a computer, with the same account as the rest of Calidis.
Do you get notifications on your phone?
Not yet. A badge in the menu shows unread messages as soon as you open Calidis.
Are there private messages?
No. Conversations go through channels; a channel can be restricted to a few people.
