Entered at the right moment
The entry is written when you create the animal’s record. The exit is written when an adoption file is completed, when the animal goes to a foster home or when it is transferred to another rescue.

Creating a record enters the arrival; an adoption, a move to a foster home or a transfer enters the exit. The register stays up to date with no double entry.

One tab per type of register and a filter by period. Each line can be completed (who handed the animal over, recipient, remarks) without touching the date, the animal or the reason.
“Complete the register” finds the animals present without an entry line and shows them to you before entering them. An animal that has left without an exit line is flagged, never filled in automatically.
You can complete who handed the animal over or who received it, and the remarks. The date, the animal and the reason stay fixed: the register keeps its value as a record of events.
Entries and exits can also be entered by hand, and “Complete the register” suggests the missing lines for animals already present. Nothing is written without your approval.
Calidis provides the framework: columns, numbering, header, signature. The legal wording specific to your situation remains for the shelter to check.
